Excerpt:  At 55 inches in size, the UE55D8000 will dominate any sensibly sized living room, but that's not due to any excess heft. It's a sleek and slender 29.7mm deep and weighing just 18.6 Kg with the stand attached is relatively light in terms of TVs this s...

Good:  Attractive results in 2D and 3D, Accurate colours (deltaE: 2.4) and good contrast ratio (3200:1), Powerful Motion Rate 800 Hz mode, Backlit remote control, Low energy consumption: 112 W
Bad:  Glossy screen susceptible to reflections, Viewing angles too narrow, Remote is pretty basic, Crosstalk more visible than on plasma 3D TVs, Clouding on our test unit

Bad:  Motion Plus picture processing introduces motion artefacts on its higher settings, no side-mounted USB or AV inputs will make life awkward
Bottomline:  The 55UED8000 is an outstanding TV. It offers the best 3D we’ve yet seen on a Samsung screen and image quality can be excellent. However, care needs to be taken with the brand’s Motion Plus picture processor, which can introduce video nasties if set to...

Bottomline:  The D8000 is a superior LED TV aimed at those with an eye for stylish, upmarket tech. Its design is delicious, and its 2D HD performance is just as tasty – although I was conflicted about just how much Motion Plus picture processing I could tolerate. ...
